Telegram bot not responding

Steps to diagnose when @tradesops_admin_bot has stopped pinging you for new enquiries, bookings, or invoice actions.

First, confirm you're still paired

Open Settings → Telegram in your TradesOps dashboard. The status should show Linked with your Telegram username.

If it shows Not linked, re-pair — see Pairing your Telegram.

Check the last time the bot messaged you

Open the @tradesops_admin_bot chat on your phone. Scroll to the most recent message. If the last message was:

Muted the bot?

Long-press the @tradesops_admin_bot chat in Telegram → check that notifications aren't muted. Telegram's mute options include Mute for 1 hour, Mute for 8 hours, and Mute forever — a mid-press by mistake will hide new pings even though they're arriving.

Blocked the bot?

Same long-press menu → check the bot isn't blocked. Telegram's "Block user" option, if triggered accidentally, silently discards all future messages from that bot.

If you had blocked it: unblock, then re-pair from Settings.

Telegram outage

Rare but does happen. Check downdetector.co.uk/status/telegram or search "Telegram down" on Twitter/X. If there's a major outage, the bot won't be able to reach you until Telegram's back.

What about specific actions failing (buttons doing nothing)?

If pings arrive but tapping Approve / Confirm / Raise does nothing:

If the desktop button works and Telegram doesn't, restart the app on your phone and try again.
