Full desktop parity with Telegram
Everything the Telegram bot lets you do, you can do from the dashboard on a laptop. Pick whichever suits — or mix them.
Why both
Telegram is fastest when you're between jobs — a quick tap on your phone to approve an enquiry, confirm a booking, mark a stage paid. You don't need to open a browser.
The desktop dashboard is better when you're sitting down at the end of the day and want to review, edit, or take your time — draft a quote you couldn't quite finish in the van, edit assumptions before sending, spot which jobs still need chasing.
Both surfaces use the same underlying flows — an action taken on one is immediately visible on the other. You can start something on Telegram and finish it on desktop, or the other way round.
The mapping
| Telegram action | Desktop equivalent |
|---|---|
| Enquiry ping → Approve / Decline | /dashboard/enquiries/[id] → Approve & send booking link / Decline |
| Booking-confirm ping → Confirm / Decline | /dashboard/bookings/[id] → Confirm booking / Decline |
| Reply to notes-prompt with site-visit notes | /dashboard/bookings/[id] → Site-visit notes textarea → Draft the quote |
| Draft-quote → Approve and send / Regenerate | /dashboard/quotes/[id]/edit → Approve and send / Cancel draft |
| Reply to job-date prompt with a date | /dashboard/quotes/[id] → Set the work date form (natural language) |
| Stage invoice → Raise | /dashboard/jobs/[id] → Raise on the invoice panel |
| Stage invoice → Mark paid | /dashboard/jobs/[id] → Mark paid on the invoice panel |
Everywhere the desktop offers an equivalent, the same guards apply — no double-raising, no double-approving, no accidental duplicate jobs from two tabs at once.
Desktop-only features
Some things only make sense on desktop:
- Editing a quote before sending — IntelliQuote drafts a good starting point, but the desktop edit form is where you'd tighten the scope of work, tweak labour narrative, adjust assumptions or exclusions, change materials price. Telegram just shows you the draft and lets you Approve or Regenerate.
- Cancelling a draft quote — Telegram's Regenerate cancels + prompts for new notes; the desktop's Cancel draft closes the quote out entirely without re-drafting.
- Filtering and searching —
/dashboard/enquiries,/quotes,/jobs,/bookingsall have status filters and are searchable by customer name.
Telegram-only features
- Speed — approving from your phone is faster than opening a browser.
- Push notifications — Telegram pings you the moment an enquiry lands or a customer picks a slot. Desktop doesn't have a real-time notification system yet.
Which should I use?
Most active TradesOps users are on Telegram for the daily loop (approve enquiries, confirm bookings, dictate notes, raise invoices) and drop to desktop for anything that needs a bit more thought (editing a quote before sending, changing rates, reviewing the week's jobs).
